For Ian - see the more upright seat.. sorry about the blurry pic...

January in Tassie

In early January I went to tassie to go to the Falls Festival with Leanne and a bunch of others. We had an excellent time, and as usual I went for a ride. This time it was Hobart to Launceston via the western tiers. It was hard riding over the mountains, and pretty darn miserable up there in the sleet in mid summer, but worth it for the 1000m descent through the clouds that took 20 minutes to roll down. Cruising through puffy white clouds, just like landing in a jet..

After I went to see the Styx forrests - Which your friends Gunns are still clear felling. Big big trees and pristine forrest being exported as woodchip for paper in Japan.. Think of that next time you use the 50 weight bond in the office or wipe your bum. Its your trees.

I also met Den and Brian O'Meally north of Launceston. I was their porter for a few days while they rode the east coast of Tas. We had fun - with red wine beer and nice views.

T

Camped under a bridge near Launceston - Den making himself an 'after dinner mint'. It was cold.

Dinner with Den and Brian - Hardly balanced !!

Da Boyz - with matching lycra, and legionairs hats :)

I drove up to meet Dennis amd Brian north of Launceston. It was Brians first real ride. Den is just polishing off his 10000km round Aus lap.

And big brooding rivers..

With moss gardens..

As my knees packed it in again i went to see the Styx forrests. Totaly amazing stuff!!

A cycle snack, coffee and lemon tart. Leg food. My bike in the background. No photos of the middle of the trip cause it was too wet.

I went for a bike ride from Hobart to Launceston via the Western Tiers. Of course I met a german cyclist. He was a bit strange... (too)

The sky while the Cat Empire was playing

Philby and Leanne - Morning coffee before the fun begins.

The Skin Singlet was out on the second day. Mostly on Paris and friends..

The Cat Empire doing their thing

Rosie in Bert at the Falls. Luxury on wheels!

And when I came back I had to go and look at this fault in the bowels of a Building in Nth Sydney. Pretty exciting stuff for Sydney geology.

Who had moved to the ground by late at night

There was a doll in the chair in the back yard. I think its called Chucky?

And Suz and Harry were pretty exhausted after the surprise party for Harry. Suz did an excellent job of sorting it all!!

Oscar took my picture

Harry cooked meat for me and him - any excuse to be carniverous!

and the lounging ladies too

Harry's Party weekend
