Dangling like a tea bag..

Andrew looking at the cliff. What a way to start the day!! :)

Abseiling over the Warragamba River for work

Yesterday Andrew and I went up the the Warragamba river to look at some rock for a client - Nice rope access work. Hell of a walk down to the river and out again with all our ropes and stuff (200m rope, harnesses and slings ect.. ) This shot is a view south to the dam. We were looking at the cliff face on the left near the tripod, and the hill above.

Les's Boatshed at solstice

Winter Solstice Tide

It was solstice yesterday, and full moon tonight. The full moon means tides are just over 2m tonight. Last night I got out and took some shots down at the boatshed. Up to 13 seconds exposure and a bit of digital lightening (my camera seems to be taking longer to expose shots in the same light conditions as it gets older...). Enjoy.

Greenland paddle - I've been making these for sale in Sydney... THis one is from Huon Pine, and is my one. I've also used Douglas Fir (Oregon) and Western Red Cedar. The Western Red is a bit bendy, but the Oregon seems to be the best.

Fish like the ones I saw in WA - check out September Blog. But these guys were about 30cm long at biggest and very friendly. Even nibbling toes.

Me swimming on the afternoon of the first days walk. Norsca Spa!!

Heaps of excellent waterfalls on the island

1st Days walking on Hinchinbrook Island. We're pretty happy to be there after flying and bussing it all day - note crocks lurking in the distance...
